The two Chromebook sites located at the school for remote learning will be closing at 11:00 AM today to allow for additional cleaning. Normal hours will resume next Friday, October 2nd.
We just received 50 additional copies of last years (2019-2020) 5-8 yearbook. Yearbooks can be purchased for $27 each by contacting the office on a first come, first served basis.
Congratulations to the Baseball and Softball teams on their wins yesterday. Baseball is back in action today at home against Du Quoin at 4:00, while softball travels to Du Quoin for a 4:00 start. Regional brackets can now be viewed on SIJHSAA.com. Baseball hosts West Frankfort on 9/29 (4:30), and softball travels to Hamilton County on 9/29 (4:30). A win on 9/29 for either team will advance them to the Regional Championship on 10/1 (4:30), with that location to be determined.

Remote learning students will have pictures taken from 2:30-3:00 (5th and 6th grades) and 3:00-3:30 (7th and 8th grades). Please come through the 5/8 front doors, wear a mask and self certify before entering the building.
Parents: This morning, Sept. 14, we were notified an individual at BGS tested positive for COVID 19. We immediately took action. Bi-county Health was notified. They immediately conducted contact tracing. Students who need to be quarantined moving forward are being notified by the school and the health department. If you have not been notified by the school or Bi-County, your student was not in close contact with the positive case. Please remember to complete self certification before sending your child to school. Thank you.

The cross country team is back in action today at the Benton Park. The triangular meet with Marion and Herrin kicks off with the JV Girls at 4:00. JV Boys, Varsity Girls, and Varsity Boys races will follow. Please remember to social distance or wear a mask so that we can keep our sports programs competing.

Parents: Letters were sent home today with students regarding changes to our learning schedule. The letter is also posted on our website under the news section along with an updated 2020-21 school calendar.
Parents: This past weekend we had three staff members and several students who were in close contact with an individual who tested positive for COVID-19. Contact tracing was completed Sunday and all individuals who were in close contact have been quarantined according to IDPH guidelines. These individuals have not been at school since their contact.
