This week, BGS 5-8 students attended an assembly performance by the Wonder Wheel BMX Stunt Team. In addition to watching the BMX team perform thrilling stunts, students also received an inspirational message about hard work, dedication, setting goals, and being a positive influence within their community and school.

The boys and girls basketball schedules for the 2021-2022 season are attached. At this time, there is not a restriction on spectator capacity, but everyone will be required to wear a mask while in the building. We're looking forward to great seasons for both teams!

Information for the state cross country meet is attached. A couple of reminders for spectators include admission prices ($5 adults - $2 for 8th grade and below). Also, pets will NOT be allowed at the meet. The girls race begins at 10:00 AM followed by the boys at 10:30. Yesterday was a great day for the Running Rangers as they defended their home course and captured Regional titles in the girls and boys races. The teams will now compete at the state meet in Du Quoin on Saturday, October 16th. The state meet kicks off with the girls’ race at 10:00 AM. More details will be posted soon. Congratulations!!!

Benton hosts the SIJHSAA Region 3 cross country meet this afternoon in the park. The girls are scheduled to race at 4:00 PM, followed by the boys. The top 4 (out of 8) teams and the next 10 individuals will qualify for the state meet in Du Quoin on Saturday, October 16th.
